Who: The birthday twins and those who like to partay!!
What: A birthday cake large enough to feed an army (or two in this case). Can the twins conquer it!?

Where: Camelot. 'tis a silly place.

[ There's twice the excitement this year due to a number of reasons, the most elated of them all being that this was the first birthday the twin kings were allowed to share since their birth. Twenty-five years later for such a blessed reunion meant that everything had to be prepared just right!

Everything that can be at a birthday party is there, including ale and whores. Because apparently someone ordered such silliness to take place. Centered at a table towards the back is a very awkward king, possibly two. Come, make merry, and do all of those fun birthday shenanigans that should have been done last week but details!! ]

I may sound odd in saying so, but it has always felt as though I was missing someone dear to me. I could never place my finger on it, no matter how hard I tried. At first I thought it to be the previous King, but no, I had always felt as though that kind knight was my father. So how could I overlook the parents who raised me for ones who were never there?

[ She shakes her head as if that were the answer to her question. ]

I suppose I have always known, deep down inside. Now that I have him here, I still keep him at an arm's length of distance. Why? It is not as though he can hurt me by leaving. As a King, I could make him stay grounded for the rest of his life.

[It's not a question. Irisviel believes that, no matter how she acts, Arturia would never do such a thing.]

And it's... quite understandable to feel that way, I think. Many people's greatest fears revolve around losing loved ones. They don't want to lose them, and they don't want to feel that pain when they go... so the natural instinct is to push them away, so that the pain might be dulled should it ever happen.

[Despite the serious tone their conversation has taken on, she smiles.] But that won't happen! He is still adjusting to life here, but I can tell that being with you brings him great joy.

You are right. [ She exhales, calming down from that. ] He is happy to be here and I am happy for him... Even if I must keep things from him still.

[ It pains her to do that in all honesty. Withholding their relationship from the world is suitable enough, but when it comes to a brother? It hurts and it shows in her expression. ]

Sometimes... it's necessary to keep secrets even from people you would trust your life with, for some reason or another. [Unknown to Arturia, Irisviel speaks from experience.] There will be a time where you will be able to tell him everything. I'm sure that, when that time comes, he'll understand.

[Irisviel's hands gently curl into fists as she reminds herself to keep a respectable distance between her and her fiancee. It's one thing, wanting to reach out when Arturia is merely saying upsetting things. But when there is hurt so clear (to the homunculus, at least) on her face? That takes a whole lot more self-control.]
