Who: Sarah & Luc
What: They meet for the first time since her pardon.
Where: The Church
Warnings: None?
She was in her home with her estranged parents for the day during the time where she saw Luc's pardoning. When the knights came a part of her was secretly glad to be leaving as everyone, even her parents, saw poorly of her. Sarah took her staff, a bag of her clothing and offered it to a knight as they started to leave. She did not bother to speak to the men as there was no purpose of it, her location was already known and when she got there she'd get there.
The knights brought an extra horse for her to ride upon on their way back but she did not know how. Using their aid, she got onto the free horse and set side saddle with her hands on the reigns and waited for the knights to start trotting off in the distance. It took a few hours but they finally were at the Church. By the time they arrived her legs and body was a bit sore from riding the horse such a long way with no prior training. When she reached the Church's doors and went inside, she stood near the alter and waited in silent patience.
She would wait all night if need be.

"Sarah. A pleasure to finally meet you."
The other men looked at the Masked Bishop, who opened the door leading to the back area. "Come with me. We have a lot to discuss. The rest of you, leave."
no subject
"The pleasure is all mine."
Sarah nodded in his direction as he mentioned for her to follow him. The girl seemed so icy on the outside, her face didn't seem happy nor sad. Sarah's entire demeanor was outwardly distant and she rose from her seat with her bag and went with him to the back area.

"Tell me, Sarah. Do you know why I spared you?"

She did find that he had an attractive face but his personality was a whole different thing. Sarah remained in this dead silence until he started speaking to her and she listened to him as if there was no words sweeter than his own.
"I am sure it was not done out of good will. I am uncertain of the reasoning but I am sure it must be for my power." Sarah said bluntly.

He then walked over towards his desk, and lifted up a scroll, unraveling it. On it was a list of strange characters, known as the ancient Sindar symbols for the 108 Stars of Destiny. "How do you know about the 27 True Runes, and the 108 Stars of Destiny?" he asked.
no subject
"I am able to read the Sindar language. I have studied independently in search of how I am able to control powers without a rune. This is how I came to find out about the true runes to begin with."
derp, this is why I shouldn't tag at 3:00 AM
Luc then pointed towards the Chizen star. "Because a... source of mine has identified you as one of them."
The Seeress, to be exact.

It must have been enough to save her life but she was unsure why. Sarah never heard of it before now, while she had many books the ones she mostly read were magic focused. She withdrew a few steps back so she was not within his space anymore and folded her hands in front of her.

Did a Bishop really just say that? Thank goodness this wall was soundproofed.

"I am very thankful for your compassion, sir. It is something that is rare among people now. I am indebted to you.." Sarah just kept her head lowered and said nothing else.
What else was there to say? She figured if she showed him respect that he would see that saving her life was not for nothing.

Regardless, that was the point. He needed her. Luc nodded, his face not betraying his internal conflict. "Then you should know why I brought you here." He reached for his left hand, and removed his glove, revealing the glowing True Wind Rune. "If I know where all of the 108 Stars of Destiny are, I can ensure that this accursed Rune can never get the better of me again."

Again, he started speaking and she saw the True Wind Rune on his left hand. Sarah inched closer to him and her eyes lowered to his eyes with interest. She'd been studying for so long that she hadn't seen someone who actually carried a rune by himself or where it was visible. A part of her want to touch the hand to see if it was elevated or just a part of the skin but she dare not ask.
"I will do whatever you ask of me, sir. Is there anything you wish me to do now?" Sarah looked at him, her icy demeanor hid her wild interest and inquisitive behavior.

No... if anything, she would be waited on too. He motioned for her to join him on the sofa with him. "Quite on the contrary, I think you've earned quite a lot time to rest, after all you've been through."

It was abnormal that he didn't expect servitude of her or try to force her into The Church's ways and abandon her magical prowess but he did none of it. In a dead silence she stared at him with a cold face, it was like there was nothing there. One could say that consistent ridicule and condemning made her cold in this way.
Sarah did not understand the concept of "resting" as she did so very little of it. The girl moved with grace to his side but not too terribly close within the bounds of personal boundaries. When she was seated, she breathed out of her nose to signify that it did feel good. Her legs hurt from riding, she hadn't slept since she was on the way to her death. Sarah expected many to burn her home down with her in it or come to her in the dead of night to do the same.
"I am still efficient. I do not require it." Luc would soon learn that she exhausted herself often until she crashed. Sarah would always lie about her physical body but it was easy to tell otherwise.

Luc looked Sarah over for a moment. He could tell that rest was a foreign concept for her. The dark shadows under her eyes weren't from make-up, they were from sleep deprivation. He could tell from the way she was sitting that her legs were sore. Given all that she's been through lately... she's earned some time to herself.

Sarah leaned with a more relaxed stature against the couch, it took convincing but she did finally do it. Whether it was for a little bit or a while was a whole different thing. She raised her eyes up to the ceiling and then cast her eyes at Luc.
"......" There was many things that she sought to say but none of them were appropriate. Instead, she was defeated and looked over the book shelf at a half-lazy pace from where she was.
"Why did you show me your identity? I would have done any worked you asked me without showing me such important information about yourself"
no subject
"I did so because you have a right to know who I truly am. I was a vessel created by the former pope Delacroix to bear the True Wind Rune."
