Spring Court was a time where many couples came together for their unions. Having a wedding around this time would ensure prosperity and happiness for years to come. But not all couples were fortunate enough to be able to schedule their marriages during this week-long event. The Major's wedding with Integra Hellsing was a political union between the Church and Amestris. It wasn't a surprise that his could bypass much of the necessary bureaucratic channels. The Cathedral had seen decorations move in and out like a storm in these past weeks. And now, it was currently decorated with the colors of the Spring Court in one end as well as the colors of Amestris in another. The wedding was a public affair as personally requested by the Major himself. Anybody may enter the cathedral, talk among one another, and indulge in the comestibles set about on tables. The wedding would soon begin in time.

Char is mingling with any of the other noble guests.

"So, how drunk should I be before the service, do you suppose?" he asks lightly.

"If you like to sleep through this, maybe as much as you want." Wearing his army force uniform, Souji wasn't too far from Char.

"That would probably be an improvement, but I don't doubt the Major would gladly revise the program to make time to slip a knife in my ribs," Char replies.

Will the smile ever go away? Probably not. Souji closes his eyes to accent his humored looking face, "That's what I'm here for. To snuggle up with if such a thing happens."

"You don't know how much I appreciate the offer, Souji," Char says, going with the flow of the innuendo as only a career soldier can.

"But seriously, stay alert. There's no way this wedding is going to happen without some form of violence."

A small furrow of the brow, "You make it sound very inevitable, Lord Aznable."

"Have you met these people?"

"Yeah, but a wedding? How sacrilegious."

This is exactly the kind of thing Bruce had been hoping to avoid. Not only is he at a wedding, an event he's never been comfortable with, but it's the wedding of a sociopathic madman to a woman who, whatever her sins, probably doesn't deserve this. He's generally keeping to himself, and not actually drinking very much.
